yes! in the cave kinda close to the pistol spawn marked by a blue golf cart marker, there is a blueprint for a glider launcher
is the foldable glider just the old glider but you can keep it in your inventory?

Try building the TRAP WITH ONE TURTLE SHELL. It will shoot up height enough to get going. Then do the DOWN then UP to gain more altitude. I do it all the time.
