2 pc setup help (Rode Caster Duo
Hi I’m new to rode and have been using GOXLR for like 4 years. For some reason I’m struggling here. I can’t figure how to get my OBS sounds (alerts) or my Spotify (music track for twitch) to separate. In goxlr I just use the MUSIC output and then add it in OBS and remove it from vod track and OBS is just on system sounds (Desktop audio) but I can’t figure out how to do that with the Rodecaster hardware or software. :woahLUL: plz elp.

Even if you use both of the USB connections on the Rodecaster Duo via a single PC, you're limited to 3 audio outputs devices from the mixer itself. You've got 2 inputs/outputs from USB 1, and one input/output from USB 2.
They have confirmed that the next update will bring more channels over USB. They haven't said how many, or if it's just on USB 1. But my guess is we'll get another 2-3 on USB 1 and you're desires will be fulfilled.
You could use additional software to split things out, but I wouldn't overcomplicate things. Use a combination of Windows mixer and possibly "Application Audio Capture" in OBS until the new update drops.

How would I do that? I have 2nd pc on usb 2 and stream pc on usb 1. So all desktop audio is being mixed with the main mis on the stream pc.

So the Duo is a true mixer with interface capabilities. The GoXLR is an interface with mixing capabilities. So the Pro2/Duo are designed for you to mix on the device and have a single output to your computer(s). Which is fine, but that's not how most people familiar with streaming interfaces are used to using them. If you use the standard routing, or mix minus, and you add each channel into OBS the way you would with a GoXLR, you're going to get the cross looping of the Mic from Main out to Duo Chat, and from Duo Chat out to USB Main in.
You can stop this by using custom routing. It'll lose some of the full mixing functionality on the device it is capable of, but you're probably using OSB to mix as well, so you'll end up with the desired result.
This is how I have my Duo set up to remove the looping issue with the mic. I use USB Main for Desktop Audio and Duo Chat for Desktop Audio 2 in OBS. I use Microphone Duo Chat for Mic/Aux in OBS. USB2 goes to a second computer.
Everything functions as it did with my GoXLR, there's just fewer channels. There's workarounds for that with software, or something like a Mix Create, or you can wait for the next Firmware update, which will be adding more channels (the most requested feature for the Pro 2 and Duo).
