Tebex is the industry standard Youre trolling trying to use an alternative

just use stripe directly

tebex having chargeback protection and the easy to setup plugin is the big reasons why everyone uses it

how are you going to send commands to the server by only using stripe? Zero automation in your suggestion
applesauce
applesauce12mo ago
stripe has a webhook api

their chargeback protection isnt quite as effective tebex will basically handle everything for you is the nice thing while the chargeback protection stripe has supposedly says you can skip evidence submission its still overall better to do so since if you have too many chargebacks go through stripe may drop you and tebex literally running the command on the server with their plugin means they can super easily do that for you you also have to be processing through stripe for 6 months for eligibility for their chargeback protection during which you could suffer pretty high losses if you have enough chargebacks

Really, Tebex is the best. Now this isn’t necessarily as a result of price, since they do take a 5% cut. But they act as the merchant of origin which means they handle things like refunds and chargebacks. Making your life a whole lot easier. If you really dislike the idea of using tebex. I would be inclined to suggest CraftingStore.

only for small servers
Cooleg
Cooleg12mo ago
it depends but something with good chargeback protection is really optimal especially for gaming where chargebacks are stupidly common

ProGamingDk12mo ago
Craftingstore offers no protection, Playerlands offers protection aswell Playerlands looks to be a fine "option" if you really dont want to do tebex, but i wouldnt recommend something without chargeback protection
Cooleg
Cooleg12mo ago
and tebex is still a perfectly fine option for large servers since its less likely to continue to offer chargeback protection to you as other providers may stop since if you get enough chargebacks, which is quite possible for gaming stuff as it is relatively high risk and when using their system they can confirm the commands are being run and benefits are being given easier than stripe can theres a reason hypixel uses tebex 🤷

I am aware I was simply providing alternatives That is why I said if you ‘really dislike’ tebex, go for that.

ProGamingDk12mo ago
you suggested smth with no chargeback protection which is pretty important ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ i just pointed that out
QarthO
QarthO12mo ago
not 100% sure but i think a player charging back on one server will ban them from the entire tebex site, so they can’t go and chargeback on a different server
ProGamingDk
ProGamingDk12mo ago
thats the only thing craftingstore does
QarthO
QarthO12mo ago
ye I’m talking about tebex using a widely used service is better cause of these kinds of features Something like stripe wouldn’t have this and should never be used imo
Ducky
Ducky12mo ago
It doesnt have chargeback protection you are right. On a technicality it does as you can use PayPal to battle chargebacks
Cooleg

Can still suggest it though 😂
Cooleg
Cooleg12mo ago
paypal 90% sides with customer anyways
Ducky
Ducky12mo ago
I have found that. If you provide evidence certainly in the situations I have experienced they have sided with me every time 🤪. But I certainly have heard of that happening to the majority of others. Either way it’s ultimately a decision people need to make. Tebex as a result of being merchant of origin provides it as standard. CraftingStore doesn’t but some people like to take the risk. 🤷‍♀️

if you don't have a high chargeback rate they side with the seller I have a friend that used paypal for 4+ years and they sided with her almost every time but paypal sucks they randomly lock your account
QarthO
QarthO12mo ago
This is like a 1 in a million Unless ur friend was using friends/family, which can’t and shouldn’t be used for this, (which is probably why they locked her account often)
applesauce
applesauce12mo ago
they had a business account
QarthO
QarthO12mo ago
Yeh and I’m saying ur friend got like a 1 in a million odds of avoiding chargebacks or they were lying to u That’ll basically never happen in practice

Easy, tebex. Playerlands is basically tebex(from what i can see) but without chargeback protection.
ProGamingDk
ProGamingDk12mo ago

Personally use Azuriom and have been satisfied so far (website solution with its own store)
Cooleg
Cooleg3mo ago
what are you switching to minestore or something else and im also curious why you're switching
professor
professor3mo ago
xenforo + minestorecms azuriom is great from the looks of it
Cooleg
Cooleg3mo ago
minestores main thing i dont like is that it seems like its a recurring purchase for updates
𝖄𝖔𝖚𝖗𝕹𝖔𝖙𝕷𝖚𝖎𝖘
You do need a vps tho and setup is... Um... I ended up asking someone to help me cause i bricked the vps twice
professor
professor3mo ago
it was great when we switched but it just got frustrating as time passed. lots of bugs have remained unfixed for awhile now and it feels more like something that somebody made for their server and figured "oh i can sell this for money" xenforo is tried-and-true and has been used globally for a decade or so
Cooleg
Cooleg3mo ago
interesting
professor
professor3mo ago
and now i have less of a reason to dislike tebex cause they dont take 14% and only 5% but i still dont want to switch cause its a matter of control, my manager personally had like $400 locked up in his wallet after some chargebacks and they suspended his account. Which shouldnt happen to us cause we're more established I guess but regardless its concerning, and I dont want to be forced to use their site, their software etc. However later on i definently am interested in tebex checkout, but it requires atleast $60k in annual revenue
Cooleg
Cooleg3mo ago
i mean ig it being $80 a year vs $80 one time is probably a drop in the sand for a large enough server and ofc its only $80 a year if u care abt getting updates
professor
professor3mo ago
exactly just look at mineverses website and skyblock.net theyre still on xenforo 1
Cooleg
Cooleg3mo ago
honestly i need to bite the bullet and learn webdev sometime

professor3mo ago
the theme we have rn on leaderos is the same one we used on nameless but namelessmc had waaaaaaay more customization options cause it was built for nameless so everything that wasnt customized which was 99% of the theme i had to code in manually with some hacky CSS and php just compare these two

honestly leaderos aside from the issues we had with it is great just for our purposes it didnt work out well theyre doing a full recode from what ive been told.. its just the development team is a one man army and theres no addon system
ProGamingDk
ProGamingDk3mo ago
a client of mine uses minestorecms, (im managing it) if you have a overinflated economy do be slightly careful it stores balances in its db and has a x char limit that can be hit (not sure if its a issue with the latest minestore)

25 usd/year it is not that much 😄 In case if you don't want to receive updates, you don't need to purchase updates renewals. Overall, 2.5 usd/mo in a year for receiving updaates constantly, it is not that much. MineStore is not 80$/year after purchasing the license. It is 25$/year for updates.

you can just change datatype for the column. I believe, on 2.x version limits are double 9,2, you can replace 9 with your own number
