Game starting server after Unity splash image
When I launch the game, this terminal window opens up a few moments after the "Made with Unity lol" image fades in.

ohh this could be driver related? NVIDIA hates us Linux users and wants us to pay in blood for trying to install their drivers. I'll reboot into X11 from Wayland and see if maybe the gods smile upon me. Praise be Linus

Listen bud unless you got a fancy role like I do you can't launch your game that way.
Now how the heck are you launching your game? Cause that terminal window is a dedicated server lol
Did you change any settings?
Create a
.bat
file?I'm just in an elite league of my own, duh. Seriously though, I just clicked the big green Start button in Steam. I am running it through proton though, because, like I said, league of my own. \o/
It's been running beautifully since I bought the game, even though I am technically running it within, like, three different docker containers
Well now it's above my pay grade cause fck docker. :kkew:
I don't know how to help from here though cause docker is definitely not my speciality by any means.
Good luck!
Well I am not doing anything special with my executable, and strangely enough it was running a few hours ago. If I can't play this game, I will have to go... outside.
PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command%
Try that in your launch command
I remember something along the lines of it but since we don’t have the old help channels I can’t see what fixed it anymore
Trying it now, captain. Setting phasers to stun.
I get a window that states "Failed to initialize the game launcher" titled with "Easy Anti-Cheat Launch Error"
I get the feeling the "easy" part in the title was just a way for the game to mock me.
hm
and i assume you have the EAC runtime installed via steam?
wow thats helpful battlebot sigh
unset sdl_videodriver && steam
do the sdl videodriver in capsSolution

Oh hey! Starting Steam up in an X11 session (vs. a wayland session) with the PROTON_USE_WINED3D arg worked! I can play again! I don't need to go outside, or to bed!
haha could be or wayland itself
usually x11 is pretty stable imo (reasons i havent went to wayland)
also check the protonDB for battlebit
i gotta head out and skate with a friend for an hour or 2
but ill be back soon
oh perfect!
also mangohud is another you can try
I shall look into it, oh Battlebit lord
nah thats livingflore lol
hes a god at this stuff
keep me updated if the mangohud works for wayland!
:arch:
Hey there folks! Mangohud works, but I'm back to it trying to start a dedicated server. Even in an xorg session with PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1
