Does this sport coat look terribly tight? It fits closer to my body than the last one I got
Please ignore the shorts but does this sport coat look too tight? It doesn't feel that uncomfortable honestly and I don't feel like making another return. But I can if I have to. Or is this the way sport coats should fit. I don't mind tighter fitting clothing

I think it does look a bit snug, but you should be able to have a tailor take it out a bit easily without returning it, there should be extra fabric. I'd probably go to a tailor anyway for the sleeves because they seem a tad long, you could do both at once.

It fits everywhere else too and sleeve length is easy fix
It fits great in the chest but a little snug in waist which can be fixed

It's too tight in the body, yes
The buttoning point is also a bit high and it makes the hips flare out in a way that doesn't look great to my eye
It's also not a great sport coat choice in the first place. For business casual you basically want either a navy blazer or a textured sport coat in brown or gray. Black isn't a good option for business casual because it's a bit funeraly/somber. Black sport coats can work but you have to lean into it and coordinate the rest of your outfit with it, wearing it with an OCBD and khakis isn't a great look
It seems like the metal buttons are trying to make this a blazer, but it's weird cause it looks like black metal buttons which don't contrast enough with the jacket to read as a blazer. If you want a blazer go for navy with contrasting buttons in metal (preppy, especially brass) or enamel/horn

I don't think the black buttons work well on a navy blazer. They're meant to have contrasting buttons

You can almost certainly find something on the ~$50 range in your size especially if you set search alerts and wait around a bit
Yeah I plan to get more blazers in the future and I enjoy thrifting so maybe I'll find something.
