Size Check for Barbour Coat
I’ve been curious about getting a Barbour Beaufort, and ended up stumbling into one in a second hand store. I think it’s a size or two too large? Couldnt find a size label on the coat, but the stores tag said 44, and Im usually a 38. I’m not sure if that’s true since it doesn’t look terrible, but I kind of wanted it loose anyway. Thoughts on how this should fit if I go back for it?

You generally want it kinda loose to layer stuff over it, even a sports coat maybe. Normally getting a 44 for a 38 size would not work but it looks good here!
I wonder if their sizing was based on the chest measurement? I agree with the others, I think it looks good. In my experience Barbours have sleeves on the shorter side, which can leave some room to size up
Yeah, warming up to the idea. Might go try on other sizes at the Barbour store to see how it compares. Their price makes it very tempting…
I guess I lose some versatility since I don’t really wear blazers, & i was already dressed on the thicker size of my wardrobe.
