Navy or Tan sport coat? Which one is more versatile?

So an update to my previous advice post, I am returning that sport coat and getting a new one. I'm actually taking my measurements this time so it fits as close as possible. I'm torn between navy and tan. Which one do you all think is most versatile? I'll eventually have both, but I can only get one for now.

You'll want navy hopsack. Tan is not versatile at all.

I'm getting Navy for sure. In the future I'll get Beige or Camel as well I plan to take my measurements today but I think I'm more like a 36S or even 34S. I'll check today Also I like the preppy vibe of a navy blazer

Thank you! I agree that Navy is king here I've always admired the preppy/Ivy League look

Navy is probably more versatile and certainly more traditional. It can be worn casually and as a suit jacket. It's also worth considering your skin tone; warmer toned people look better with tan whilst cooler toned people look better with navy. In that case, navy with brass button. Consider getting one in a sack shape (e.g. O'Connel's, J.Press).
