Lexar ARES/NM790 SSD causes hang during installer boot
Hello, I have noticed that https://github.com/ublue-os/bazzite/pull/695 includes HHD support for a couple+ GPD devices, however my specific Win4 config includes a Lexar ARES/NM790 SSD which hangs on some kernel releases... AFAICT it's the same as https://github.com/ChimeraOS/chimeraos/issues/775, https://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?331146-Lexar-NM790-4TB-NVMe-SSD-and-kernel-bug, and for whatever reason it was not really fixed for 6.5.6, but works on 6.6.10+, 6.7.x+.
Is there any respin/release/workaround I could try with a newer version or patch? I'm not too confident on the idea of forking and attempting to change the kernel version...

FWIW, I run a Lexar NM790 in my current system, and it's running Bazzite with no issues

AFAIK, the 6.7 kernel, if everything goes well, should arrive early february, in like a week or so, but maybe the devs can apply the patch if needed
This would be much appreciated

Install process was seamless too
🤔 what gives?
So, I'm curious... What is your system? Perhaps it's not just about the SSD per se but how it interacts with the rest of the hardware (chipset etc, given HMB)
It's a desktop system, so perhaps that makes a difference. I doubt the SSD is the cause of any issues with the latest kernel
🙂 sorted
My install medium was borked
