Iris + Sodium not

When downloaded from the website and placed into my mods folder in my CurseForge Instance it does not work. I use CurseForge for a Modpack made by a friend which used Origins mod and Fabric API etc... I've tried installing different versions but none seem to work. 1.20.1 btw

I would just use Optifine but some of the Create mods like Steam 'n' Rails cause crashes đź‘Ť

Iris and sodium don’t support forge

So it doesn't "run through" the Fabric API so to speak? im not the best with how it works Thats where my assumption was, Forge --> Fabric

It needs the fabric mod loader, fabric api won’t let mods run on forge Technically speaking fabric and forge are not compatible with each other, there are attempts to make them work but it doesn’t work with sodium or iris

Right and since its ran through CurseForge I can't use Fabrics... Do you know any alternative ways or mods that would give me shader support?

Curseforge is a launcher not a mod loader, granted most of your mods need forge, which is something different from curseforge

Would downloading the fabric mod loader restrict me from connecting to the server, is it clientside?

Fabric
Installation for Minecraft Launcher
The home of the Fabric mod development toolchain.
