Nelson Raglan Coat - Camel
Perfectly proportioned and beautifully made, Nelson is the ideal city overcoat. Nelson is expertly constructed in Italy from a substantial wool fabric. It’s cut with a full silhouette and generous length, giving it the classic, flattering proportions that are increasingly difficult to find in men’s overcoats. The soft

I'd also try to find a coat that goes at least to the knees; coats that end well above the knee often have weird proportions. Companies wanting to save on fabric is also one of the reasons why short coats are so common these days!
if u driving with longer coat worn, it annoying sometimes
look nice walking around though.
i can see the appeal for shorter coat if driving is the main way to go around
Also depends on how tall OP is, shorter people looks even shorter in coats that extend below the knee, coats that extend beyond the knee usually only look good on people who are tall enough
Edit: OP is tall
Nah you shouldn’t worry about this, long coats basically always look better proportionally
plenty of shorter people on here with longass coats looking fly as fuck
I’m not saying they’re not looking fly, but they certainly aren’t looking taller relative to if they were wearing a shorter coat that ends above the knees. It’s pretty common knowledge that long coats make short men look shorter. I’m not saying they don’t look good, just that it doesn’t have the effect of elongating them. If appearing taller is not the intention then sure by all means go for a longer coat if you’re a shorter gentleman
It's not common knowledge and it's also not true. What a weird thing to bring up in this thread tbh
I don’t understand this obsession of wanting to make oneself look taller than you are; there’s nothing inherently wrong with one’s size. what matters is the proportions, and frankly I don’t think coats that don’t know what they are (jacket or a coat), look good on anyone.
I'm sure you mean well, but the appear taller thing always reminds me of the toxic side of the fashion community that preys on insecurities (height, weight, skintone, etc. ) instead of focusing on how to have swag
That's pretty dependent on the fit of the coat, like an oversized balmacaan can lead to this issue due to just looking like you're wearing your older brother's coat, but funny enough just rocking it anyway and being confident in it and your height will completely off set the visual cues because alot more of looking good in your clothes is about body language than early fashion youtube understood.
Also, longer coat with a good fit in the body/shoulders will look perfectly proportioned and won't make you appear shorter. All about fit and proportions
