Flannel trousers - pleated or flat front?
I'm on the verge of buying a pair of flannel trousers (haven't owned one before). I'm wondering if I should choose a flat front version or one with single pleats. What's your advice?
The two I'm deciding between:

Pleatsssss
More space and adding some details into the top block are both good things
I think the button closure and side adjusters on the pleated pair are super cool too, though you wouldn’t be able to wear a belt with them
Not super helpful but I got the mid-grey flat front and the sand in pleated 😅 they’re both great
Hm, true. I think I prefer the pleated one, too. Although, it'd be nice to wear a belt sometimes.
Haha, glad you enjoy them!
This might be a stupid question, but how do the side adjusters work? So, I have a natural waist of 80cm. The 40cm waist of the pleated pair in size 48 seems just right, compared to my other trousers, maybe on the snugger side. Is it possible to also loosen the pants a bit with the adjusters, or is it only for tightening. Wondering if I should size up to 50, but the 42 waist would be loose.
Only for tightening
Basically the side adjusters have mini belts on each side that cinch the waist down
I went true to size with mine. The side adjusters can tighten but not loosen. You should be able to let out the waist with tailoring though if needed
That's my thinking too. Even if I need to let it out, it's only by a little, there must be enough allowance for that
They’re only so effective so I wouldn’t size up too much
Bought the pleated version, hope it turns out well 🙂 Thanks both!
Hope you like them!!
I’m really interested in how they’d look if you’d once you get them lmao
I ordered the same ones!
Actually I got the Antonio cut, not the alf. But same fabric and color
I’m having second thoughts 😄 do you think the side adjusters and the tab closure make the trousers too smart for dressing down? I’m thinking loafers+sweatshirt or chucks+wool sweater combo
Nah not particularly. Most of the time they’d be covered up unless you’re tucking in your top anyways
Both of those fit ideas sound like they’d work fine with them
Glad to hear you think that way. I’ll test them out once I get the trousers. About tucking in the top, I’d probably wear a tucked in T-shirt with these fits under the sweatshirt/sweater, which I’d show if it’s too warm inside
