Clothing Tags - Topic of the day 1/21/24
Sometimes an afterthought, other times, a part of the experience. Do tags impact the way at all you see a brand, what brand stands out to you when it comes to tags? Do you keep your tags?

Man im ripping that shit off no scissors no knife
just pure grit
i keep mine in a bag in my closet, in prep for hanging them on a cork board or something in the future lol. i saw someone do it before and looked cool
i honestly get a bit disappointed when a brand's tag is boring
especially when its on the pricier side
i was on a jury where someone got convicted in part, because the stickers on his cap the cops found at his house matched a security video
just talking about the experience side of things, the way things are wrapped also makes me kinda want to shop with them again compared to others. like matches gives out this cool box with their orders and bought from story mfg directly recently and the way it was wrapped+all the goodies created a whole experience opening it up
Tag related: do u guys take the little label off ur sweater sleeves
I don't like when tags are scratchy lol
My favorite tag convention is listing the collection year like comme does
I suspect most labels don’t do this because stockists would have more trouble selling through pieces once they’re a season or two old
i once got a sweater withe a tag made out of wood you could burn as incense. Seemed over the top but fun
That would make a lot of sense. It’s a nice detail more for the vintage collector and wannabe archivists
Agree 100% I love it
New or interesting tags are kinda rare but the brands that do it seem to do it well
Also an important thing for brands to emphasize to distinguish real from fakes
Idk if it's good design or just fan delusion that people talk so much about Rick tags but it's interesting nonetheless
Hanging tags get tossed after I settle on alterations. I don't care if tags are sewn in as long they're not itchy.
Vuori makes some quality athletic shirts with the most obnoxiously long neck tags I've ever seen and I recommend clipping that shit off immediately
I removed the red Levi's tab on my black denim trucker jacket because wtf
it stands out so obviously
not trying to be a billboard for Levi's
They're made to easily and cleanly tear off. Same as Lululemon. People who keep those tags on are crazy
A&F care tags are like CVS receipts.
