can some one help me with the data base
can some one help me with the data base for this project

What is your question exactly?
What are you having issues with?
Im a beginner they gave me this project bruh
idk they asked the code should have add delete and update and functions
and the data base should be from visual studio something like this
Is it a school project? A test for a job?
school
then they've probably given you the information you need in class, so start with that and if you get stuck we can give you a hand
idk where to get the data base
im noob in this
trust me
Well, the project probably has some requirements written in it
So start by taking a look at what's the exact database you need, and how exactly are you to connect to it
its just this pdf file
A file that contains instructions
Like "use SQLite database" or "use Microsoft SQL Server"
Possibly combined with "connect to it with ADO.NET" or "use Entity Framework to query it"
Do you know how to use EF Core or ADO?
no
So they gave you a project that requires things you weren't taught?
i wasnt attending π
So, what kind of help do you specifically want?
I'd suggest going through the requirements first. Depending on those, you can start asking questions, and we can provide answers.
For example, it's supposed to be a Winforms app. You don't know to make a Winforms project. We can tell you how
And so on
does this help
What the fuck
VS 2002
What year is it...?
Can you even download it and install it on anything but XP?
And, no, this doesn't help much. It just tells you to use a decade-old IDE and C# language
dafuq
And, apparently, you need documentation as well
this is the whole thing
thats its
it*
isw π
That's the whole PDF?
im so sorry
wait its actually two projects i gotta pick one
can you share the PDF?
sure
Ah, they're basically the same, then, just with different themes
i want to do the 2nd project
i have no idea how
i wanna pass this so bad then i promise ill restudy everything alone π
I mean, you're gonna have to study it one way or another, nobody's writing it for you
So that part is covered
i think i can use ai for the code but what about the data and other stuff
if you "use ai for the code" you won't learn much
I guess β and it's just a guess β since there seem to be no other requirements, you can at least do the non-code parts
System analysis, specification, etc
AI only works if you know what to tell it to do and there is no guarantee that the code will be correct
Make a UML diagram and what not
Isw i promise ill study after this now theres no time the dead line is on sat
Will make making the project easier
Ah, again, trying to complete a semester-long project in (checks calendar) four days I had a penny for every question like that lol
i can't open the pdf, is it not a typo that it says VS 2002?
God I hope it's a typo
"In the current digital era, the management of user data is a fundamental aspect for various organizations, ranging from businesses to educational institutions. The Registration System project aims to address the growing need for an efficient and secure system to handle user information. This system will be implemented as a Desktop Application using C# with a focus on user-friendly interfaces and seamless integration with a relational database."
is that good for an introduction
i think it's, doesnt make sense using VS 2002 nowadays
im so sorry guys π
idk why they using an old veriosn
version
did you get AI to write that?
yesπ
if i can tell so can your teacher
I wouldn't be so sure, they require VS 2002 lol
The teacher probably calls smartphones "them's funny glowing bricks"
isw idk what to do my dad will kill me if i failed this π
she uses an iphone 5
i mean, i guess you're learning a lesson about procrastination the hard way?
i dont wanna fail this
but since i was 10 years old i wanted to be a programmer
i went online and got these files
strange, I've heard this story from someone else here on this server
procrastination is common
isw im new π π
what is that supposed to be?
idk i can send the files tho
i'm not opening random files, if you don't know then it doesn't matter to me
.sln
.cs
so you were given a template project to start from?
no i got those online
from this website
how do they relate to your project?
https://www.kashipara.com/
idk i just googled visual studio database project library system download
π
downloading random things from the internet isn't going to help you
your best bet is to buckle down and follow the instructions the best you can, and do what you can before it's due
im crying π
There really aren't any instructions, not in the pdf at least
So, your best bet would be to make a new Windows Forms project and start googling around
Since there's no particular db requirement, use SQLite, it will be the easiest
is there a reason you didn't attend the class?
yes
u wont believe tho
i mean, not if you start with that
sickness?
studio sessions π
i do sessions for artists
i feel so bad rn
i mean, yeah
sessions?
yes
you're learning the hard way not to put off work for other stuff
i am since im struggling rn
You're closer to becoming a professional model, then, than a programmer
So might as well lean into that instead
if all the instruction was given in class there's really not a lot of options unless you can manage to teach yourself everything you missed in a few days
and knowing how classes work, if you don't do it the way they taught they might not give credit anyway
i really dont know what to do
maybe if u tell me
step by step
i can
if there aren't instructions in the PDF there's not much we can do to help
well
I think the first step is to download VS
i dont understand why they just give the pdf like this then
ok
should i
download the old version
2002?
it is ridiculously unlikely it will even run
if it's even available anywhere
then download to 2022
honestly, if you don't even have an IDE installed for this class you are kinda screwed
i amπ
i feel so bad
Here's the PDF screenshots, in case you don't want to download the PDF itself
I wonder if some more instructions were given in class?
Can you maybe ask a colleague for the full instructions?
>you need to make a team
Ah lmao
Completely missed that bit
its cuz im late
so im solo
Gotcha
ok
yeah frankly we can't help you, there's not enough information to even get started
Your classmates who actually were there and presumably completed the project are bound to know more than we
if you can get more specific requirements for the project we might be able to help, but based on this pdf there's nothing to go on
im asking a classmate
ok so if my classmate says that "thats the project "
what can i do with only this information?
ill give the least effort ig
if it's truly that open ended then you can kinda do anything
that pdf is extremely vague about what it wants you to do
"full functionality" means nothing
INTRODUCTION: Providing an overview of the project's goals, background, and objectives.
SYSTEM ANALYSIS: Delving into a detailed analysis of the requirements and functionalities of the Registration System.
SYSTEM SPECIFICATIONS: Outlining the specifications and technical details of the system, including hardware and software requirements.
DESIGN APPROACH: Discussing the architectural and design decisions made for the development of the registration system.
SCREENSHOT OF OUTPUT: Displaying visual representations of the system in action to provide a glimpse of its user interface and functionality.
SOURCE CODE: Presenting the key snippets of the C# source code, highlighting the implementation of core functionalities.
CONCLUSION: Summarizing the project's achievements, challenges, and potential areas for future enhancements.
is this good
@jIMMACLE
@ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
@VicXaulim
that still says nothing about what you actually need to code
i can't download files
ok wait
$paste
If your code is too long, you can post to https://paste.mod.gg/ and copy the link into chat for others to see your shared code!
is that good info
is that chatgpt output?
yes
we're trying to help you, don't waste our time with this please
something spat out by chatgpt is not information that will help you determine the requirements for this project
im sorry
you need to get information from your classmates or teacher
i just asked my teammate
he said
its just the pdf
ask them more about it, because if that's really all there is there's not much we can do without basically doing the project for you
and we can't do that
is it a hard project like
is it gon be hard
how much C# do you know?
or programming in general for that matter
pytohn
python\
im kinda good at python
and you have to finish this by the end of the week?
yes
so 2 days?
on saturday
i wanna kms wasting ur time
asking questions isn't wasting time, but asking chatgpt to do something this open-ended and asking us to read it is
i guess start at $helloworld and see how that goes for you
but if you want my honest take, you aren't going to be able to finish this project in time
shit
fuck bro
damn
unless you somehow manage to go crazy and learn everything you need in like a day, because you still need time to actually write the program and do the writeup
you'll need to learn enough C# to understand windows forms and ADO.NET, then learn enough SQL to work with a database
ig my dads shotgun wont make me feel pain
failing a project isn't the end of the world
i overeacted
i didn't turn in a huge paper for an english class and failed the class, retook it over the summer and it was no big deal
ugh man nvm im sorry tho
hey but made good tracks tho
@jIMMACLE ijust asked another class mate

that is much better
now i have no idea what to do
if it was me i'd start coming up with a model of the data i have to work with and the kinds of things i need to do with that data
hows that
something in the spirit of a UML class diagram
so you can figure out what objects you're working with, the data associated with each one, and how they're related to each other
like, a member is an object with a name, phone number, etc
a book is an object with an ISBN, title, etc
and there is a relationship between a book and the member who checked it out of the library
I guess this is where the specs would have come from
i missed that part
