Low fps on high entity count with shaders off
Hello I'm having this issue where when there are a bunch of people (with visible names) Infront of me it lowers my fps a lot.
This only happens with iris installed and it happens when my shaders are turned off
I'm just really confused as to why this is happening even though i have the shaders off,
I know its Iris causing this because I tested every time by removing a single mod and removing iris solved the issue, readding it returned the issue.
I have added an image with my mods, I play on 1.20.1

well. afaik some optimization regarding entity provided by Sodium are disabled when using Iris for compatibility with the pipeline shader
no
my bad
can you send a sparkc log?
sure, how do i do that?
get the spark mod
use
/sparkc profiler --timeout 20
alrighty
spark

uh
you're using labymod
that's not supported by Iris, I didn't even know it worked
oh uh
i can't help you at all because labymod encrypted the entire game
oh
this is all i see
ill test the same mods without laby
also
you're missing iris in the spark log
it's a profile, it shows what's taking the most time, so you need to be doing exactly what causes the low performance when you run it
oh im stupid yea i sent you log without iris installed
ill redo it sorry
no problem
rn im just doing mc launcher using fabric loader with all the mods including iris
to see if laby mod is causing it
hm alright the issue seems to be still there ill do that spark again

It doesn’t show anything specific caused by Iris
is it lagging right now?
it does it for example when i start a game of survival games
like yk the circle at the start
it drops me down to 50 fps
with iris
should i run the scan when im at that moment?
well I need a spark log when that happens, sadly
yeah
alr will do
you can make the timeout 10 seconds if it only takes place within that time frame
ahh yess good idea

around 6 people infront of me (i think)
it started tanking me from in the hundreds down to 80

this one is better
at the circle
down to 20 fps
was getting killed but like when i look away my fps is fine
i can also run shaders smoothly its just when i look at many people
also i forgot to mention sorry, turning off nametags removed the lag
but nametags are kinda rlly important especially for pvp
That’s… impressive
the game is somehow getting caught up in a feedback loop
I’ll take a look at the code later to see what could be up
thank you!
@IMS
Sorry if im not supposed to ping
Is there a solution for this
