Is there a way to disable update checker?
Hi all. Due to my poor network conditions, after I enabled this mod, I often experienced ssl errors or the inability to connect to github, causing the minecraft client to crash. So hopefully the update checker can be disabled. Is there currently any way to achieve this?

Update checker shouldn’t cause any issues, it’s a simple https request iirc and it only happens once every 24 hours
It seems update checker is designed to not cause problems. However, my client log shows that after an SSL error or connection to github times out, it may cause the client to crash directly or need to wait for a long time for it to time out before entering the game.

If you got SSL errors maybe you are using Windows 7 and your certificates are outdated. On YouTube there is a workaround to this issue.
