northeast western wear equivalent?
I know western wear is associated with America as a whole, which is cool, but I feel like it's something that's mostly attributed to the south and the like. Would there be a northeast equivalent of the style, or would that be just general americana workwear?

The 2010s Americana was very northeastern influenced. The northeast equivalent of western wear is basically an L L Bean catalog. Most people call that style general Americana/workwear since that was what was popular when a lot of people got into clothes in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Lots of barn coats, chore coats, flannel, wool cruiser jackets, duck canvas, and bean boots.
Ohh that's true
I guess I meant something that's as old as the old west but like. LL bean is kinda old too. But not that old right
ok so ll is really old
it's 112 years old apparently (damn)
Also in your list you didn't mention any hats so what would you say is an equivalent of a cowboy hat then for the northeast
Dress like a pilgrim
I don't wanna dress like a pilgrim
Pilgrims do not look and are not cool
American western wear was heavily influenced by spanish and native american culture so maybe for the northeastern equivalent, you can look at british heritage type stuff? i think that'll at least get you as old (or older) than the old west
perhaps
Thank you
also I was gonna say "there's indigenous people in the northeast too though" but thats not the point you're making lol
Orvis is another really old classic brand making classic Northeast outdoor clothes. It’s a old fly fishing and hunting brand that was started in the middle of the 1800s.
ooo Orvis is one of the brands ll beans and rice mentioned in my mid-century workwear question
I wrote down the brand name and browsed through the website a bit, but i'll check out their older stuff more thoroughly now
No one has told me a hat equivalent yet though 😔
at first I thought baseball caps or beanies but they don't give that adventurous feel quite fully
beanies give the vibe more than baseball caps though
Not northeast as it’s an upper Midwest brand but Stoney Kromer hats come to mind initially
I guess it’s similar to a Maine guide hat which is something L L Bean sells
Other options are wool flat caps or waxed canvas packer hats
Thank youu I'll check those out
There was also a post here a week ago or so about “oystercore” which is basically dress like a New England fisherman
Late response but I love that
I was looking up longshoreman attire earlier today
To try and get that look
So I will check out that thread
