do you have a backup of your database?
I dont have unfortunately
I did but its very old so the data is outdated
I did have a duplicate left by the migration
But I also already deleted that as well
If I cant recover a deleted key from Redis, at least, can Railway recover a deleted database?
I'm sorry to have to say this but if you don't have a backup the data is gone, railway is not responsible when a user deletes their data
I see. So Railway can't do anything to recover a deleted database? Do I need to ask for official support?
railway is not responsible when a user deletes their data
Solution
railway will only restore missing data if they are at fault
Yes I understand. But even if they are not responsible, can they still do it? I see no problem here since I am a paying customer.
Also, I only accidentally deleted it because the UI was not clear enough so I pressed the wrong button.
I can guarantee they would tell you the same thing I am
they kind of at fault though? Because the UI is not very clear
I forgot what Redis data type is it, but its key-value pair data type
So when I pressed "Delete Key", I thought it would only delete the key on that data
But turns out, it deleted the entire key from the top-level
I'm sorry but they aren't at fault here
Okay. Ill try my luck by contacting them directly. Do you know where should I do that?
as a hobby user you only have access to community support, aka these help threads where the community can answer your questions
im really sorry you lost your data, but you are not the first to have this request, every time its been the same answer, even to pro members who do have access to railway support
I see. I understand.
I just hope that they would improve the UI. For a user like me who is kinda stupid, it's really hard to navigate thorugh the Redis UI. I use it quite often for my personal app.
i have always recommended a proper database client like dbgate
Can't be bothered with it. Thank you for the help though!
no problem!
