I feel like that's a loaded question. It's more appropriate to ask whether SteamOS or bazzite is a better fit for your needs.
The benefit of SteamOS, especially on Valve hardware, e.g., Steam Deck, is that it has much more testing prior to release, but as a consequence it's released rather infrequently. If you are looking to use Steam Deck to play Steam Store games and not much else, you are much better off using SteamOS.
The benefit of bazzite is that's a near-rolling-release Linux distribution based off of Fedora Silverblue and as a full Linux distro, it allows for much more software aside from games to be installed and used, but it's also a small project that's fast-moving to try to support a much wider range of hardware than SteamOS, and because it's much more bleeding-edge, there can be issues. I will be greatly disappointed trying to run SteamOS on a modern NVidia laptop, but bazzite works well for my use-case. I also run bazzite-deck on my Steam Deck OLED booted from a separate drive so that I can use it as a Linux workstation aside from gaming on it. So, figure out what your needs are and determine the better fit for you.

this isn't meant to be a loaded question. Wait what are the benifits of dualbooting steamos and bazzite?
I leave stock SteamOS untouched on my Deck because I only play Steam games on it. I load Bazzite when I have it docked with monitor/keyboard/mouse and I want to do work, or to play a handful of non-Steam games.
My use case is that my Steam Deck is my one and only computer I own. I recently sold my laptop just to use the Deck with an external monitor and hook up a mouse and keyboard to it.
I also want to use the Deck as the Deck intended so Bazzite is the best of both worlds for me. What I want is for me to be able fiddle with what I use and what I run I find the experience of Bazzite a lot less of a pain than SteamOS to do so.
I can easily run and get those few extra system packages I need to be able to do what I need to do without being scared of the system breaking or needing a reinstall. The only thing I really have to manage is the storage used by my home folder and it's a lot easier to tidy that than to backup and reinstall every few weeks.
After Christmas, my Steam Deck OLED will also be my sole computer -- my laptop is being gifted to a family member -- so I will be in the same situation. Did you install Bazzite directly onto the Steam Deck or on an external drive?
Directly on the SSD, it's my one and only OS on it supplemented by a 512GB SD card. The Deck itself is 254GB but I'm gonna buy a 1TB SSD to put in it
If you need any recommendations to get a more laptop-like experience send a mention or DM, I researched the topic a ton before getting the right display and keyboard and hub and what not
I'm slightly dreaming away of 3D printing a case to put everything together in a little box :D
Haha, no, I think I splurged enough on the Steam Deck itself. I'm just using a 10-year-old monitor with it plus my work keyboard. I do have it all connected to the Valve Dock for Steam Deck, though I think that may have been a hasty purchase due to the lack of USB-C connectors other than the one for DisplayPort. However, it's fine for what I need.
