“account already associated” caused two problems…
Ok first, I had spent 24$ on an overlay package and when I try to link my socials this message came up saying “account already associated” so I logged out and logged back in and then I noticed that my purchased overlay package was gone and now it’s was trying to make me buy it all over again… I sent an email to support and I’m waiting to hear back.
Second, I’m currently created and editing a whole new overlay and I notice that every time I try to add my socials it says “account already associated”. I don’t understand. It says that “your accounts may have different emails” but I only just started using this today 😦 I have no idea what this thing is talking about but I need help.

Sorry you're having issues. What's your Twitch username and what socials did you try to add?
Hi, my twitch user name is Twistedgamez96 and I tried to link my YouTube channel
Sorry for the late response I was actually searching for other ways to contact you guys
It’s saying a I have to buy it but I already purchased it

And what's your YouTube channel name/handle?
It’s called TWISTED GAMEZ
I can send the link if you like
OK I see what happened
You may have been signed out when you tried to sign in with YouTube, and because your YouTube has a different email than your Twitch, it created a new account instead of linking them.
So right now, you have two accounts
1) YouTube
2) Twitch, Twitter, IG and TikTok
... and your purchase is on 1)
But my twitch and YouTube channel are under the same email though
According to what we got from the YouTube API, they are not
I’ll show you proof
It doesn't matter
What I can do is delete 2) ... and then you can sign in with YouTube, and then relink your other accounts

What delete 2 what do you mean?
Delete your account that has Twitch, Twitter, IG and TikTok linked
How do I do that?
The YouTube channel email can be different than the account holder's email
But I just showed you that they are the same email. Everything is literally under [email protected]
If you go to YouTube, click your Avatar, then click Google Account, then Personal Info ... under Contact Info, that is the email that is used.
We link your YouTube Account and not necessarily your Google/Gmail account
... anyway, it doesn't matter
The fix is the same
I will delete the account with Twitch, Twitter, IG and TikTok linked and move the overlay to the account with YouTube linked. Then, you can sign in with YouTube, and link your other accounts to the one with YouTube linked
So I’ll still be able to link my twitch?
Yes
Ok
As long as you are signed in, it will link it to the existing account even though the emails are different
So I think I seen what you was talking about as far as the email go.. I was never aware of that
Me too 😅
I’m still signed in btw just tell me what I gotta do next. I’m not the most tech savvy unfortunately
No worries. I will be here to walk you through it.
Please sign out and then sign in with YouTube.
Ok done
OK now on Overlay Expert, click your avatar in the top right, then click My account, and then try linking your Twitch account.
Ok so I think it’s linked by I’m not sure

Yep they are linked now
You should be able to see your purchased overlay and your Space Themed MK1 overlay too.
Ok cool! Thank you so much 😅 it literally took me all day to figure this out when it should have took me like 20mins 🤦🏾♂️
Nah don't worry about it 😄
Things get complicated when there are different emails involved
I see! I’m glad I was able to get some help. This was getting frustrating lol
Thanks again Marc! You have a great evening! I’ll contact you again if I have anymore questions or need advice !
For sure! We will be here! Just remember us when your Twitch-Famous 🙏
Most definitely! Haha 😂
Marc! One more thing!
Yes?
How can I get my overlay to show on my streams?
It seems like a lot of people have a hard time with this
I had to restart my stream to get it to kind of show on my computer but I can’t see it on my console or from my phone.
It says I have to sign in but I’m already signed in
What’s that mean?
Click on the channel link
