Recommendations for CPA Professional options (again)
I received this list of available courses for next term a few days ago.
Kinda confused what to pick.
I am planning to pick
- CVI620
- WEB524
- DBS501
- OSD700
I wanted to know about the courseload of OSD700 in particular. I know its a great course, but my current state doesn't allow me to spend too much time on school.
Even if I take it, I feel like I won't be able to get the best out of it.
OSD600 was also heavy, but I was able to manage. Can someone share from their experience what do we actually do in this course.
Also, if there are better courses in the list I can exchange with my current selections, please let me know (along with professor if possible 😉 ).

For Computer Vision, I just see one prof right now.
I am also thinking of MAP523 - is it worth it?
she's fantastic and hilariously overqualified
I see, that's good news
But I am faced with a choice between computer vision and .NET, not sure what to pick
ehh web5 is probably more applicable, structured just like web2, 3, and 4 but with C# and .NET (sadly not Core, hopefully changing soon) CVI was neat but it probably won't help in a job hunt
Yes, that's what bends me towards .NET
Unlucky me
How is MST300
I didn't take it yet, ppl say it's like working through Azure tutorials tho
I see, will take it then
And how about SDR
haven't taken it! I might next sem
I see
Well this is what I got then
lol I heard MST is kinda meh
you pretty much self teach azure by going through their tutorials
yep yep
as an easy course? yeah
something that you can self-learn from? also yeah
Yep, I need at least one easy course lol
Prj, web and osd are already too much 😂
another easy course to take would be map as its mobile dev for ios or android
That's some spaced out class schedule if they aren't online/flexible
Everything is online
Yes I took the android one, but with an unknown prof
As the good prof conflicts with osd
if the unknown prof happens to be rohit gaur before the term starts, stay in that course
as i explained in #web322, he is a great prof to learn mobile dev and web
I was looking forward to OSD700 but they made OSD600 available in fall ONLY and OSD700 in winter ONLY.
The unknown prof is a new prof that who was probably a student recently.
I wanted to take Rohit Gaur, but couldn’t due to osd conflicts
Yeah luckily I took 600 in fall
@spelling police Are Rohit Gaur’s lecture recordings available to other students
they’re on zoom
Oh, so that means I won’t be able to access them
yeah
😦
What if I take the ios one. Is it worth it?
definitely
im taking it rn and i enjoy it
Alright, I switch then. Need to buy a macbook now (although I hate it)
you don’t need to buy one
you can use macincloud
I see, yes he also told me that. I asked over email
Just curious, is macincloud that slow vm thing that feels laggy over network
yeah
but it’s a good alternative to paying $1k+ for a MacBook
This ios development course is real treasure, you will learn a lot about apple ecosystem swift core data and etc
I see, thanks for sharing. Thankfully I switched to ios on time
True, but I’ll still try to buy one. I simply can’t stand lag
Is your professor is indian guy?
Yes, Rohit Gaur
He is good
Yeah I heard about him
Very good and industry teaching level
That sounds good
He teaches how to make real app in ios
You’re getting me excited lol
Luckily I’ll have good profs in my last semester.
Also, I just saw he’s an ex unacademy dev
Its a big thing in India
