Thoughts on Beam Plus trousers? Or recs on wide trousers in general?

I've never really worn trousers before, let alone wide ones, but it seems like the pants to wear these days after seeing some Daniel Simmons and Tim Dessaint videos.. Today, I got to try on some Beams Plus trousers and they seemed all right. What are your thoughts on these? When I wear my size, I don't have the same level of crop since I'm shorter. It comes down to leave no break, and does not show my ankles. I was thinking of maybe getting their regular one and a corduroy one too. Or... Are there better, more versatile ones, for a similar price range under $150? https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/beams-plus/beige-pleated-trousers/13992361 https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/beams-plus/black-pleated-trousers/13992281

Those look great! Black can be a bit difficult tho, I'd get the beige For corduroy, maybe a brown instead? https://www.ssense.com/en-us/men/product/beams-plus/brown-pleated-trousers/13992301

Just black in general is hard to do with these kinds of trousers Fine for like jeans But pleated pants, chinos etc It's hard to pull off black because it can look overly formal https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1177829858664001616/1178177406998163476 Gimp made a good write up here I guess the J. Crew Giant Fit Chino is kind of hype? but less for what it is as a garment, more for popularising wider pants

vintage levis, carhartt/stan ray painters or versions of, og107s and versions of them, vintage Polo Ralph Lauren cords are all frequently recommended or seen worn by people in WAYWT.

oh yeah, OG107 is very hype

i'm pro black trousers (as the one who posted that thread asking about black chinos lol). unless i'm reading it wrong, even gimp's write up explicitly says that black is fine for casual use and his advice seemed more geared towards business casual/formal wear which i assume you won't be wearing these with. black pants are totally fine in casual or streetwear type looks, just don't try to wear em to the office lol

slight tangent to ask a related question, as I'm starting to explore a wider fit, is this ebay purchase a decent option? (I already bought, but requesting affirmation nonetheless): https://www.ebay.com/itm/186165733874

i usually wear slim, and I have skinny hips and legs, so this would already be way wider for my frame than I'm used to

Looks nice I'm a skinny dude and used to always wear slim fit but I'm really enjoying wearing similar trousers to that one

Think this is comparable

Btw, does anyone know if Ssense is going to go even deeper on discounts after Christmas beyond the 37% they're offering on these trousers?

They went down to $141 CAD from $210 last year after what felt like months of waiting, but there's no harm in watching it and if you see one or two left in your size then jumping on it.
