Weird flying layer in caves / rendering issue (?)
As on the video, I see a huge flying layer of blocks that uhm, shouldn't exist? I don't experience that on surface, just when in large caves, somewhere underground. I'm not sure if I changed something in DH settings (I don't think so though) or is it a bug, please advise. Also not sure if it's an expected behavior or fixable at all, I am sorry if it's a repost, tried searching by keywords on this forum and couldn't find anyone with similar graphical issue.
Minecraft version: 1.19.2 (multiplayer server)
PC specs (I don't think it matters but including it anyway if needed):
CPU: i5-9400F
GPU: RTX 4070
RAM: 16 GB DDR4 2400 MHz
All mods that I use:
DistantHorizons-2.0.0-a-1.19.2.jar
fabric-api-0.76.1+1.19.2.jar
indium-1.0.9+mc1.19.2.jar
lithium-fabric-mc1.19.2-0.11.1.jar
phosphor-fabric-mc1.19.x-0.8.1.jar
sodium-fabric-mc1.19.2-0.4.4+build.18.jar
This modification is awesome, I'd like to donate a few bucks as a way to thank for this mod, it's a game-changing feature that persuaded me to play Minecraft again!

Hi, that seems to be overdraw prevention, could also be cave culling
Is there a way to somehow change that in DH settings? I mean it's playable but sometimes confusing
Yeah, in the advanced settings
Both under graphics
It looks like what happens on ocean floors, it makes everything flat at a certain height so its less detail to render
Is this cave under a big body of water by any chance?
Alright, I'll check DH settings and play with it if it resolves the issue. Thank you!
No, checked other recordings of my gameplay and it's a mountain, generally mountain biome
Disable cave culling
Changing "overdraw prevention" indeed had an effect @Steveplays
Changing "cave culling" either on/off or its height didn't seem to change anything @James Seibel (GMT-6)
Honestly I'd expect some internal LOD of the cave from inside to be shown here instead of that flat layer :pepeThink: not sure if you can fix it / implement, I guess it's fine as it is as this issue isn't that critical. Again, thanks a lot for making this mod and for your help!
Cave culling is the problem, you may just have to wait several minutes for the geometry to re-build. It doesn't apply instantly.
Oh, okay. I've been in this area maybe for just a few minutes, maybe I need to stay longer. Anyway, thanks a lot! :pepeHappy:
