Is the blazer too short?

I definitely think it was too small. I couldn't move my arms freely and was able to feel tightness around my shoulders. And i think you can notice the length of the suit and sleeves are short too. But the thing is that the brand size is 38. The salesguy kept saying it was perfect. Their size 40 (the next bigger size) was too loose. Need this for a college function asap and can't get a tailored suit

Unfortunately it is far too short, though it also flares out a lot at the waist Charcoal is also a pretty hard color to wear as a standalone blazer For the rest, it is very hard to tell because of how you're holding the phone - what's due to the awkward pose vs what's a real issue. Ideally you get photos of you from the front, back, both sides, standing upright but relaxed, arms down. The cup trick works decently well. If it's meant to be a blazer, then worn with high contrast pants helps a lot (hard to tell in poor lighting where charcoal ends and black begins, but if you have a light color, much easier -- or get better light, like natural light or a lot of indoor light).

can you try a different store? the sizes aren't that universal, different brands have different cuts you definitely don't want the jacket to feel tight and it is definitely too short

Try 38L, fwiw I don't think it is "far too short", a bit, yes, but not that much. But if you can't move it obviously doesn't fit.

Yeah, "far too short" seems like an exaggeration. The problem is it just doesn't fit well.

It’s at least 2” short imo which is quite a bit
