Help!
Ok so I really need help installing shaders in general
So i have Iris downloaded, the java 8 update as well, and modrinth, and curseforge
i do have an iMac and it is jus a couple years old (not very old)
but i seriously cannot figure out how to do this
can someone help me please?

i do also have a bunch of shaders downloaded but nothing is working

Did you install sodium

You did not install either sodium or Iris (if you just had Iris the game would crash)
Also you need Java 17 for newer Minecraft versions
i do have iris tho?
but i can install sodium if thats going to help idk

You can just get the Iris installer from irisshaders.dev
It will install sodium and Iris for you
I would recommend using the “fabric install” option when running the installer
This will allow you to put other mods on the game in the future

Launch the game with the fabric profile
Then get a shaderpack from the internet, such as from https://modrinth.com/shaders and put it in your shaderpacks folder inside your .minecraft directory

then go to options -> video settings -> shader packs
I would personally recommend Complementary Shaders
i dont know what like folder im supposed to use omd im so sorry
that's fine. When you go into the shader packs menu there's a button to open the folder
ohhhh
you can also just drag the downloaded shaderpack into that menu
