AO + Shading Interaction with Forge Shaders
This isn't a bug about shaders themselves, but something I noticed hen loading with shaders. I'm on Build 2.0.0-a 1.20., using Forge 47.1.43, Optifine 1.20.1_HD_U_I6_pre6.
When loading with shaders on, DH chunks load and are visual, but have no shading at all. When turning shaders off at this point, the terrain is still there but without AO or shading.
Explaining the images:
1) Loading into level with shaders off DH chunks visible normally
2) Turning on shaders, DH chunks not rendered
3) Loading in level with shaders on, DH chunks visible but without AO or Shading
4) Turning off shaders, DH chunks visible but still without AO or Shading
Not sure if this is DH related, or related to a shader issue not supported by DH, but figured it was worth mentioning.

I guess I should have compared images 1 and 4 more directly, since that's the main issue if this is due to DH, Since that would be the actual issue players might see


for picture 3, it can be solved by going into video setting -> shaders -> changing lighting to "old lighting"
for number 4 yeaaa nah i don't know what could be causing that
Thanks for the info! With that in mind I did more testing:
It seems that the issue is specifically when you launch with shaders when using Old lighting:default or off. If you launch with Old Lighting:On then turn off shaders, everything seems to be fine

If it's just a forge shader issue I doubt there's much to be done on the side of the DH devs, but I'm interested in hearing what they say
from how DH's lods are rendered there's actually not much they can do, unless insert more coding gibberish wham blam smack(woah) kaboom
Yeah, I'm no Graphics Engineer but I know it's a mess, unless shader developers work directly with them there isn't much that can be done. But who knows, maybe someday!
