Sleeve shortening

I would need to shorten these sleeves 1-2". These look like functional buttonholes. Is that correct and if so, what should I do?

I've read they can be taken up at the shoulder. does anyone have experience with that?

shortening 1-2" from the shoulder feels like a stretch. i don't think the holes would align at that point

Usually not worth it. Is the jacket special?
1-2” is a lot from the bottom or top of a sleeve with functional buttons.
Quite costly from the top
Apparently they aren't functional buttons. It does look like they are though...
Fake buttonholes like this still require more work if you need to shorten the sleeve because they're obvious and contrasting.
