Where can I find similar chunky style doc martens loafers
So ik that doc martens kinda have a poor reputation nowadays in terms of their quality but I have to admit they do have some appealing looking shoes
That said is there any other shoe makers that have a similar chunky style of boots/loafers to doc martens? I looked at solovairs loafers but idk they don’t seem as chunky as doc martens and they look more pointier

I have a pair of solovairs and tbh they are almost identical to doc loafers in shape.
If you want something more premium I have heard nothing but good things about Blackstock and Weber.
For a slightly different vibe but still chunky I own some Paraboot Reims and I love them. Probably my most worn shoe lately.
Are they?? Idk if it’s just the color of the solovairs that are giving an illusion of being pointier

They have 2 factories I believe
Supposedly the docs from England are a made from nicer materials but I can not confirm or deny

sorry for the random ping but do u know anything about doc martens having to size down? so like my shoe size in the US is 12 so would I need to get size 11 from the doc martens website?

As far as the quality of the upper is concerned, they always have alternate material options (instead of their usual plastic-coated leather that cracks and flakes). I have the loafers in suede and “crazy horse” leather.

I sized down for DM Adrian’s and they were so tight I couldn’t get them on, and I have sort of narrow feet. I think TTS would be the way to go
How do the Reims fit? I ordered a half size down from my normal size. I got a pair of michaels a few years ago in 1 size down from my normal size and they fit well.
Waiting on them to ship. Got a decent deal at Peggs&son
I have Reims and Michael in the same size and they are both sized correctly. The Reims fit slightly differently but it may be that mine are suede and obviously the difference between laced and not.
Hopefully they fit

Half size down did the trick for me. They fit great!
