Jeans shrunk in drier. How to fix.
Left my Jeans at mom’s place and she decided to do me a favor and wash/dry them. It’s been about 6h since they finished in the drier. And have shrunk to the point they’re incredibly uncomfortable to wear. How do I fix this?
These are my favorite jeans please help q.q

They’re a pretty expensive pair from Naked and Famous, so I can’t really afford to replace rn either.
You can’t unshrink jeans. If you wear them you may be able to stretch them out a bit. There are waistband stretchers available like these, but you cannot usually get more than like 2 inches: https://www.amazon.com/Stretcher-Heavy-Duty-Easy-Use-Instant-Stretch-30-Stretch/dp/B072RCVBSN/ref=asc_df_B072RCVBSN/

They’re about 1.5inch shorter around the waist I feel.
That salvageable?
You might be able to get that back with a waist stretcher
That wouldn’t affect the legs though I assume
unless they somehow shrunk a ton, just wearing them around for a bit will stretch them back to 'normal'
1.5 inch in the waist sounds crazy though. thats like levis shrink-to-fit levels of shrinkage
They might stretch out a bit with wear
Wear them and see, for sure
If they're too short now you're kinda screwed, if they're a bit tight in the waist they'll probably stretch a bit
they're probably unsanforized denim
i didnt know n&f had unsanforized fabrics. may have to pick up a pair
Idk - sanforized denim shrinks in a warm wash and tossing them in the dryer will shrink them more.
If the length is too short undo the hems and wear them as a raw hem. As for everything else, maybe try soaking in some cold water with conditioner, roll them in a towel to remove excess water, and wear them around (supposedly conditioner helps with wool so maybe it’ll help with cotton but you probably don’t need to use it).
I’d try the soaking in cold water and a small amount of hair conditioner thing. You will have to wear them while wet to stretch them out. Pulling down on the legs may get you some extra length.
Not sure that's just the feeling. I haven't really measured it because I was a bit too depressed to check. It's enough that it was now very uncomfortable to wear, at the least. I'll probably measure it out later when I find the will.
They barely shrunk length-wise, thankfully.
Mainly just tight around the waist, thighs, and a bit around the calves.
Trying this without the conditioner right now. It's incredibly uncomfortable, but I'm hoping.
Maybe I'm just being dramatic but the feel is just jarring going from my most comfortable pair of pants to this 😦
In a way I'll probably fit just fine into them next year since I'm still losing weight
Good luck!
I did end up feeling it stretch back a bit. It’s not where it was, but about 1/2-2/3 of the way back been wearing them for near 20h
