Hey! @christiandebney sorry about that, yes there should never be an X like that as far as I know
If you try to close and re-open Dash, or maybe even re-open the level, is it any better?
That icon is the material icon, but in order to change the scatter you should see the tool icon as well.
At least if you have not converted the scatter to static or something like that
ill take a look next time i open it hadnt converted it BUT i had migrated it?? to another project on my machine which has the dash account
so maybe when you migrate it it converts it?
Ooh, then I know the issue 😄
You also have to migrate a file of Dash to your new machine, it contains the active tools in the scene more or less

ah ok! ill give it a whirl thanks
No worries!
hey so i used the import data tool it didnt add the 12 interface to my already existing dash surface scatters. ill try closing the file and reopening
Can you send me the json file you exported from your original scene?
In a dm if you prefer
I want to check if it contains the tools data
you say the original scene had 12 active surface scatters?
works!
so when i copied the jsn file using the toolbar it crossed it over BUT it was only 12kb when i closed unreal and copied the file it was 22kb also have let it import
manually
using unreal but works
Sorry don't really understand what you mean, but happy to hear you managed to get it working! 😄
ha all good...
another question!
is it possible to add two objects but have a larger percentage of one of them. so sticks and leaves in the saem scatter. Id lke more sticks than leaves and maybe to adjust the size of just the leaves?
the best way to do that most easily is this:
Open Surface Scatter fully, create one instance in the same SS for the sticks and one for the leaves.
Then you can use the link button to link each setting between all the instances in the same SS. And then you also get a weight value on each, so that you can weigh one higher than the other
this could be done for the density, size or any other parameter in SS and in other tools.
Not exactly what you were asking for but I imagine it could be helpful anyhow 🙂
Oh that's great! this is such a cool plugin thanks!
No worries! 🙂
