set your alert for twitch chat then just set the show for how long you want the chat to show for, 1000ms is equal to 1 second.

on your chat layer choose alert then choose twitch chat, under that you will see show, set that to show how every long you want it to show 1000ms is 1 second

Hello! I'm also wondering if there's a way to have the chat appear when someone comments and then disappear after a few seconds. Whenever I try "Alert: Event Based>Event:Twitch Chat" it bugs the instance and my chat never pops up. But I don't have a problem when it's "Alerts:Always Shown" but then the chat box just stays up on the screen. Is this a bug? Is Event-Based the command I'm looking for?

any settings that can be done with the twitch chat widget would be under Content>type-Twitch Chat Widget anything in this should effect how it works

Gotcha, so under "Alerts>Event Based>Event:Twitch Chat" won't actually call an instance of the Twitch Chat to pop up on the overlay layer?

This worked!! Thank you so much. Follow up question/clarification: what is the purpose of the Event-Based instance? I set up an alert for when someone enters the stream but I'm running into the same issue where it never triggers despite the Event occuring.

even base is for followers, subs, bits, if someone refollows you

@ChunLee do you mean the Twitch New Viewer event? That alert will only be shown to the viewer joining your stream
