Rapido UHF Hot-ends... Junk???

So i built the Vcore400 this year and on it's first heat up the hot-end died at around 180C iirc. Open circuit, dead. The replacement which arrived late july/ early august has managed 57 hours of print time and last night failed mid print (260C). Are these junk or have i just been really unlucky? My 8-10 year old E3D Hot-ends have had 1 element change between them! Will another brand of hot-end fit in its place or will i need to repair it to print a new tool head? Any recommendations? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah that's not normal. Exactly what constitutes "dying" in these scenarios?

Could your thermister settings be wrong so the hotend is having a meltdown but thinking it’s much lower temp?

Dying as in open circuit. you apply a voltage and it doesn't get hot 😪. I believe the thermistor settings are correct. I always warm up a new printer in increments and confirm temp with a thermocouple. As I made this mistake with my first printer! the new one has been printing fine for 57hours and is now dead. if the temp reporting is off, it's off by no more than 20c or so based on the thermocouple and how the filament flows at given temps. I don't get what's wrong with them or what I could possibly be doing to make them fail. the first one never made it as far as printing and the thermocouple reported the same temp as the printer (just with a few second lag).

That's very much not normal, and I would be hitting up the vendor or Phaetus to get either warranty, failure analysis, or a discount on another. Do you have something that's interfereing with your printer like a cat, rodent, child, or similar?
