Looking for something similar to a Burberry Kensington trench coat without the price tag
Hi, I recently purchased a wool overcoat for cold weather, but I’m realizing with this fall rain we are getting in the Midwest that I don’t have much of a dressy option for rainy days. I really like Burberry’s Kensington coat (https://us.burberry.com/long-kensington-heritage-trench-coat-p80583341) but can’t justify the price, and it doesn’t appear to be available in my size (38L) anyway.
I looked on eBay, and there is a used Burberry in my size for $225, so I could do that, but I also wonder if there are any solid new options from different brands that look similar but perhaps aren’t as expensive. I’d probably be willing to give $500.

I usually recommend seh kelly trench as alternative
Way above 500$ though.
Oh yea
More of a raincoat than a true trench though, right?
I would say that's a true trench?
Missing epaulettes, yoke and shoulder pad, the (imo) classical details.

this one may have those details (but it's $785)? i think it's too short tho. i don't think you'll find something new for within $500 with the details you're looking for.
you can try waiting for end of season sales (look at ssense and mr porter to start)
there's uniqlo x jw anderson coming out in early november but I don't think it has the details you want either
I'm not sure he wants the details. It's just that I think a trench coat should have them. But the other options are probably fine.
