What are the latest trend for pants these days?

I saw the Chino pants hype but, should I get a straight cut or should it be loose/wide legged? Thank you!

if you want to be on trend, then loose/wide cuts are the ones to get slim fit chinos are very 2015

nah, go for thrift stores or online marketplaces for used clothes if you want to spend $20 per pant or less you're not getting anything good new for that price should be very doable to get some second hand J. Crew chinos or something for that budget maybe even for $10 per pant

I mean it's a very different kind of style I can only comment on the more preppy side of things, cause that's what I wear

Look online and ebay. Search "classic fit" for the loose fits.

I think you should focus more on which fits flatter your body type than what is on trend. Following trends means that you will have to buy new clothes every so often and frequently look bad. For instance, as a slender and short man slim fits flatter me best. Wider fits make me look like a boy trying to fit in his father's clothes.

Look for vintage polo blue label on eBay. Nice wide fit and there are plain front and pleated options. Usually $25-35 after shipping

I disagree. The whole "flattering body type" thing is like 70% a fabrication of people's odd complexes Thinking about garment cut in relation to body type only makes sense if your objective is already a particular fit relative to your body I would decide the "look" you want first and then figure out what garments achieve that look relative to your body There is no objective "too wide"

Agreed with yurt. Many of the coolest and sleekest wide fits from before it was even that trendy are from Japan, on extremely slim and short men. There are different kinds of big and wide cuts and ways of styling them even if you don't like to look "sloppy".

The biggest issue I see is people trying more relaxed pieces and cramming them into a wardrobe that doesn't have a similar style and then being surprised when it stands out. Body type does dictate what you can buy to achieve a specific silhouette, it does not dictate the silhouette itself. There's a wide difference between "I like this fit" and "I need to wear this fit to look good". Additional brands to search for on Ebay would be: Lands End, Dockers, Polo Ralph Lauren, and LL Bean. $20 is a bit rough for buying outside of thrift, but those brands can easily be found in the 20-30 range on Ebay.

Feel like we should amend "a bit rough" to "completely unworkable"

Honestly I think it's possible, I get some PRL for $20-25 and those sellers often take lower offers. It's just going to take a lot of time

Oh I thought you counted eBay and such as thrift lol

Yeah I thought thrift shops are the way, I saw the prices of the brand new pants from the brands you guys suggested, my student self can't handle it yet xd I might look for some cheaper pants too that I think will look good on me Thanks for suggestions!

I don't think you're going to find anything that looks good new for 20 dollars a pair Just fyi Depending on how you're configuring your budget you could also just buy less, more expensive pants
Menace
MenaceOP•14mo ago
Yepp, I'll probably do that when I get more budget. I just need 3 pairs to add on my wardrobe anyway, at least for now
yurt
yurt•14mo ago
I'm a student like you and I own 5 pairs of pants

MenaceOP•14mo ago
Tees are easy to find because there are cheap ones that I can buy Yepp I had like a lot of pants before but they were small to me now and they are slim fit jeans That's why I want to buy new ones
yurt
yurt•14mo ago
Unless you literally cannot put them on I would recommend taking it slow with buying new pairs I literally live in one pair of jeans like 60% of the time now b/c I don't like most of my wardrobe And it's fine

MenaceOP•14mo ago
They are really tight already I just rock 2 cargo pants lately And tryin to still use some of my slim fit jeans if my clothes can't pair well with my cargo pants
