For long walks, you want something with some cushion to absorb impacts and distribute the load. I would avoid skateboarding style shoes with harder soles for that reason
Yeah I mean I’ve tried running shoes and stuff but they cause me pain too
Like asics
New balance 880
I would try the NB99x if you have the budget
They're definitely the most comfortable shoes I own
Haven’t had a pair in a good while but asics gel lyte iiis are super comfortable iirc
Much sturdier than the usual asics runner
Gel-1130s probably are similar comfort wise
no personal experience tho
Can probably find them at an outlet now that they’re not as in demand anymore
My budget is cheap as can try these if they have maybe
They don’t have a new balance outlet near me
But there is like general footwear stores
That would probably have the nb 574 silhouette which is popular and cheap
I can’t speak to the comfort tho
Ah hmm
574s are pretty comfy
Nike air pegasus is likely available at an outlet
They sell them at dicks sporting goods
Sub 100

similar question a while back, we went thru quite a few options
Damn I didn’t realize the general purpose shoe was so cheap on stockx
you can probably find NB99x for ~$100 in decent condition at TheRealReal
yea i had my eye on the brown ones for a bit there. don't think i'm as high on them as much
I might cop the yellows
@Bread how time sensitive is this purchase
Pretty time sensitive
I’m going out this weekend and I need something
My old sneakers suck
Hoping to get something tommorow at the outlets
I had these once, pretty nice shoes
Aight so online purchasing is likely out the window
Yeah for sure
The outlets has a saucouny, asics, adidas, nike, famous footwear
Vans
Saucony jazz
Hm what are those
Another 574 type shoe
Cheap
Comfortable
Tbh you can probably get them next day on amazon for like $50
Love my sauconys, very comfy
I can see if they have 574 on Amazon
Yeah I can overnight them for $83
85
I know 574s are a popular recommendation but I didn't really like them
i think 574 can be cheaper off amazon w free shipping
The silhouette is hard to work with
Ah not in my size tho
😦
I’ll check the saucony
They always ended up either too chunky or not chunky enough for whatever I wore them with
Hm but a huge fan of those
I mean I’m more looking for comfort
Walking like 10 miles and not hurting
Oh yeah they were pretty comfortable
I mean 99% of that is very individual
I walk 10 miles in my loafers just fine
what’s your size?
I think Tom Sacks was cancelled a couple months back with Nike stopping their hype machine as part of it.
Tom Sachs suffered the consequences of his actions*
What’s the part of your feet that hurts after walking?
Also, have you had your feet measured with a brannock device?
I’m 8.5 wide
2E
Yes
Did I miss something
Are the shoes that cause pain EE width? Or are you sizing up and using regular width?
I get pain like
In the ball of the foot
Up into the arch
I do have high arches too
i think it just came out that he was an asshole and difficult to work for/with. but i prefer reframing the blame to him rather than him 'being cancelled'
And I’m not sure the width
I measure a 2e but not a lot of shoes come in wide
So I jsut try on
Some fit well some don’t
Nikes are always super slim
New Balance 574 comes in EE and is less than a hundred bucks.
New Balance 990v6 or 993 are also available in EE width.
If there’s a New Balance shop close to you you might wanna try that
Pain on the ball of the foot sounds like a width issue to me.
I get heel pain and Hoka Arahi 6 do it for me
I also use custom inserts but the shoe itself needs to be good for them to do anything
Also get the widest fit you can
I'm late to the party but bread you gotta start adding detail to your questions posts istg
he shared his problems in general before opening the posts, but yeah, generally more detail is more helpful to give better recommendations
I’ll try to find some 574 yeah
make sure to try the EE width. you can use the "pick up in store" feature on newbalance.com to make sure they have your size before going to the shop
Oh cool!
Could be a good idea to get some custom insoles. Lots of shoe places have tech that can basically measure the pressure points of your foot and then get an insole that is tailored to you
NB 574. Look into superfeet orthotics too
I like the look of 574 but they don’t have a size that works for me. I would say for cheap comfortable walking shoes though that I’ve had success with Saucony Jazz and several ASICS models.
Suggestions for colors
For the 574 or jazz
Or asics
574s in gray are classic
in no particular order, here's a couple that i liked from the website
What Nike options are good
I can’t find any of these
@rej
These are new balance
Can’t find new balance
Idk I think art mentioned pegasus
I'd personally avoid all black, all white, or navy shoes
Ok
I’ll go@look at bike
Nike
What’s the 574 core?
I think just colors they make every year
Oh
It’s at dicks
Is $90 a lot for them
It's the price
The likelihood of finding EE width shoes in big chain retailers is pretty low
I got the Nike Pegasus and sized up
They fit ok
These look aight?
They are comfy at least
For walking/running I think they are good
I’ll get some 574 for casual wear too
They look fine for athletic stuff but I wouldn't wear them with jeans personally
Makes sense
What’s wrong with them with jeans
The materials and colorway is giving gym class shoe, rather than lifestyle sneaker
So should I return them
I need walking shoes anyway though
Running/walking shoes
Can you help me find a good 574
That I can buy online lol
@rej worried I fucked up lol
You can get all of these online https://discord.com/channels/1116793467654381685/1166814041528868975/1167141908796153856
If you like the shoes that's all that matters. I'm sure they'll be comfy to walk around in
Yeah mostly for rhst
I agree they aren’t super cool looking lol
I like 2 of those 574 colors
Can’t pick between the blue/green or the grey
