Suggestions needed for good white sneakers + flat feet
First: I like white sneakers and I'm currently wearing the cheap 996S white white new balances. The shoes are comfy enough and I was thinking about getting these shoes again but I want to get white shoes that might go better with streetwear and a step towards formal. Like I wanna wear them with chinos and cargos too. Maybe something I'd wear on a casual date.
Second is that I have flat feet. Most sneakers are designed to be lightweight meaning for people like me most sneakers are painful to walk in. Shoes aren't obviously good too, you have to have the physical shoe in hand to test it. Most "flat foot" shoes are tennis or running shoes and would never look anything more than athletic or streetwear even clean.
Any suggestions of good white shoes that go with streetwear and maybe a notch above? Budget is prob 100-150 and only if they're crazy good

Air Force 1s seem like the obvious choice
I'm here I swear
I have a pair but.. they don't really feel like my style? I don't know how to describe it uhhh
I suppose airforce ones don't much fit on me because I'm not the kinda guy who wears forces?
They're just shoes, you can wear air force 1's if you want to
Reebok club c's maybe
Nearly all sneakers can have orthotics fitted.
adidas samba adidas stan smith
I got orthotics already but they dont really provide the stiffness I need in every shoe. They only really work with shoes that have relatively stiff soles
converse 70s? gats?
I have no idea about the whole sole thing just naming white shoes
If new balance works for you, you could get 550s
All good ill look at eerything mentioned
I love my SLP sneakers. They are comfortable and I have fairly flat feet. They are a bit over your price cap, though.
Thanks man, I'll uhyhhh check those out once I'm in a slightly higher bracket uiknow?
They are 95% identical to Converse. That made a difference for me, but it's very much into diminishing returns.
Looking thru these I think the club c's might be good, but I might then also just grab my new balances again. I want something that can MAYBE be more formal but idk if my shoes really make that happen
Converse.. I love the high top look but unfortunately shoes that ar e that narrow basically have my flat foot floating along the sides of the upper -- no support at all and it looks goofy to boot. Like a muffin top but for my feet
I don't see white sneakers as ever being particularly "formal".
ig I'm not trying to be formal i just dont got the words for it but there's like, casual streetwear right and then there's like, I'm wearing nicer pants and maybe a button up
I think canvas and leather sneakers can both work for that.
Got any examples? When I think of leather sneakers I think like air force ones and my new balances, canvases being converse/vans stuff
There are wide converse now fyi
But unforch converse and vans
oh hmm
I'll check those out because I've always loved the high top look but the lack of any side/ankle support got mne fucked up
Standard MFA recs are Converse chuck 70s for canvas and Adidas stan smiths for leather
Both should be in your price range
Alright I'll check those out, and they both should be quite easy top get here in japan
And low top converse are fine. They don't have to be high tops
SLP might be in your price range, since they are a Japanese brand. Might be cheaper there. Don't know.
Oh I mean I like high tops maybe those arent as versatile?
They will be cheaper if theyre a japanese brand. SLP uhhh
Shoes like Pottery
Oh th ese shoes are cute as hell but i can't seem to find where tf to buy them
https://shoeslikepottery.com/stockist/ has japanese stockists
if you are in japan I would also check out moonstar and https://asahishoes.jp/en/

Are the typically dark green heel/sock liner accents I see on the stan smiths something that is classic and ads to the shoe or
Should I just get the whitest ones I can find
Classic and adds to it imo!
Well alright I'll hunt for the green ones, but Im seeing this one for far below what they usually go for and

They're just a block of white so I think I know what you're saying
So! I found a shop near me that sells the Shoes Like Pottery sneakers and personally I kinda like them. They look very unique.
For versatility and outfits, would it be better to get the standard 'Black upper/white toe/white sole' look that is characteristic of the chuck 70's or is full white fine in terms of versatility
I find full white chucks easier to wear/style than the trad black and white.
Oh word. Alright, thanks, I Was leaning that way .. ahhhh.
High tops, never worn high tops. Low or highs if you got an opinion?
I'm all about the high top
Ending up getting the SLP. I tried them on at the shop and it just felt right. The shoes aren't supportive at all so they'll mostly be an indoor shoe and not. Say, a city walker shoe. But they look gorgeous.
That and if I don't like them I'm sure someone would be stoked to have a discounted pair in America.
