Should 3rd party platforms be CF proxied?
Hey all,
What would be your guidance on whether to proxy or not a 3rd party service such as a helpdesk tool?
So a cname of 'help.mystartup.com' pointing to '<mystartup>.helpdesktool.com'. Perhaps it is a 'it depends' answer but in this context the goal would be potentially rate limiting any spam going via that sub-domain (though arguably the platform should be doing that..?) then I got into thinking about costs/ potential custom rule clashes etc?
Thanks

^sometimes it works perfectly fine, sometimes it causes issues. If youre fine with potential major issues (e.g. not in production or in maintenance window) then I say try it and see. If not, ask the provider if they support being proxied via Cloudflare
Thanks both that is reassurring we'll do some further testing 👍
