Hand washing wool

Can I use normal laundry detergent to hand wash wool sweaters, or do I need to buy a specific hand washing detergent?

If it's worth hand washing, it's probably worth getting some Woolite. In my uninformed opinion.

(adding on that my normal laundry detergent is just the store brand fragrance free stuff)

Actually, for hand washing I'd use Woolite just because it would be gentler on my hands. Nevermind the clothes. 🙂

permanentstyle has a good video on hand washing if you're interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaKc72zaRSo regular detergent would probably would good enough, they recommend "any soft detergent" that doesn't have a softener/conditioner and actually use baby shampoo

I use Soak for hand washing sweaters, mostly because it comes in a scent free version, But Woolite is solid, and Woolite Darks is a bit gentler even.
