fuzzy lambwool
Hey! I bought a lambswool sweater for the first time, all was great until the first wash. I washed it in machine but on lowest everything, 20 degrees, inside out in a bag and not alot of detergent. It didn't shrink too much, it's still just as soft and comfy and it's not pilling too much (yet), but it just got quite fuzzy, more than before the wash. there's just some thin fluff (evenly) all over the sweater. It doesnt even look that bad, it's just more than I expected. Is this normal, do your lamb wool items also do that and should have I expected it to? Or was the machine wash too harsh on the sweater? Please let me know 🙂

the sweater is black, the colors look weird cuz it's the middle of the night so it's just the ceiling light
it's not nearly as noticeable as it appears on the photo
@raisin
not sure about your situation, for most wool knitwear though you should either dry clean it or hand wash it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaKc72zaRSo

I blame reddit for saying machine washing was fine ðŸ˜
tbh my question was more like "how bad is it" though
like is that amount of fuzzing too noticeable or not
looks completely fine to me, probably would've looked like that after a bit anyway. i wouldnt worry about it
fuzziness in sweaters like that is also somewhat sought after. see: the exorbitantly priced j. press shaggy dog sweater
gotcha thanks 🙂 yeah just hadnt had any kind of thin wool like that and wasnt sure on whether that was normal or not
it's so soft and warm I love it haha
this looks perfectly fine but yes please don't machine wash wool sweaters
