Steam launches then crashes when not launched from terminal
Title says it all, Whenever I launch Steam (flatpak or from bazzite-arch container) after sign-in the steam window appears black, closes and reopens forever. If I launch with a terminal by entering the container and running steam,
I'm on AMD/AMD games also seem kind of unstable, as well as firefox crashes a lot too. unsure if this is connected or not, but wasn't really happening when I was on ublue/kinoite, I've tried 2 fresh installs of Bazzite too, and this happens all out of the box.

I use Bazzite-GNOME on AMD/AMD with flatpak Steam and Firefox, and I don't experience any crashes like you're describing
This happens to me with the standard silverblue-main and silverblue-asus images. I just wrote a new desktop file.
AMD/AMD here as well. Flatpak as well.
a new desktop file with what changed?
I noticed less crashing when don't mount my btrfs nvme drive with my games on it though.
Oh I just wrote a new one that executes flatpak run com.valvesoftware.Steam
It doesn't even have an icon
Lol, yeah that's one way to handle it.
all of my games are on a secondary btrfs SATA SSD for me
termdisc, Do you still get the black screen openeing? or you're all hunky dory on bazzite gnome?
And yeah, may be something is not proper with my drive or something
I don't have a black screen opening Steam
Maybe I'll give bazzite gnome a shot then see if it's just that image
it's steam not supporting hybrid graphics properly recently
Assuming you have 2 GPUs
I do actually but it's not actually hooked up to any monitors. I'll see If I can disable it from the bios level
Weird though it worked fine in the past
yeah it's new

i think tonight im editing the FAQ to reflect this even if it's not exclusive to Bazzite
i forget exactly where you put that in the line but yeah this is so annoying
