figuring out footwear - recommendations please
Hello out there.
I've got my fall/winter wardrobe streamlined to a uniform basically* and am having difficulty deciding exactly how to break away from sneakers all the time.
I REALLY like the Red Wing 101 Postman, as well as my Birkenstock Bostons. I was also looking at moc toe/Chelsea boot options, possibly a chunkier pair of loafers. What would you do?
*trucker jackets/black Carhartt
OCBD/denim western/flannel
black turtleneck/grey crewneck
OG-107 fatigues/brown corduroys/navy chinos

I'd start on the casual derby first, then go from there. i.e. that Red Wing Postman.
Then from there consider if you want a boot (good for F/W) or maybe some more on-trend versatility like a loafer.
Where do you live? Depending on the climate, a boot may be a much better choice than a loafer.
Red wing postman, blundstone boot, and bean boot should cover your needs, but chunky loafers could be nice too, like blackstock&weber or docs/solovairs
Idk, that wardrobe sounds like a brown service boot would slot in most places nicely. Could pick up a casual shoe — I’d personally go for blushers over derbies — but I don’t think loafers for the vibe I’m getting. Fit pics would be helpful.

I find them just really boring and uninteresting. Shoes are one of the easiest places to wear something more fun and interesting and to pick plain brown service boots is just so bleh.
Why not a western boot of some sort? a PNW style? Or a more repro/milsurp styled service boot rather than something like what Thursday Boot Co makes. Chunky chelsea boots like blundstones are more interesting and more comfortable tbh.

I like the Rolling Dub Trio models that are more interesting or look like Red Wings. But like these are just pretty meh imo
