Fit Battle! - Topic of the day 10/9/23
The MFAD fit battle vote-in rounds are over. Go discuss them in #đź‘•đź—ˇ-discussions ! But for this spotlight, we want to talk about fit battles more generally. Did you participate or vote in previous fit battles in MFA or other fashion communities? Do you think you'll participate in MFAD fit battles in the future? Why or why not?

I love fit battle for the same reason I love the theme waywt, the challenge does a lot to push your style forward
Pushing yourself is the best way to get better and that’s what I find fun
This was the first fit battle that I got to participate in and I gotta say it was a blast, despite the competition being truly insane! Well done to everyone

This is my first fit battle and I like it because of the push to improve as mentioned above. Also love just seeing what people come up with, because it is excellent inspiration too. One of my favorite aspects of fashion is seeing someone with very different style from my own and thinking “ah yeah this hits,” and then stealing an element or two

But yeah, I was pleasantly surprised by the photography that went into the fit battle, a lot of people had really cool shots that enhanced their fits
First time for me! Have to say that I would not have participated if it was over reddit, discord feels much more of a community
This is my first fit battle. Being the top to not make it in stings a bit, but the competition was so tough that I can't be too disappointed! I will definitely participate in future battles, but I'll have to step my game up a bit. I ended up voting for many people in both rounds, because so many did so well. Fit battles are a lot of fun and I'm super excited to see the round 1 fits on Sunday!!

I love the fit battles, it’s so fun to see everyone’s best and be part of the voting process. Definitely will be participating in the next one. Just couldn’t find the time to put together and take good pictures of a competitive outfit this time around
i'm curious to see how MFAD's taste differs on average from r/MFA's taste. seems like the 'house style' has shifted substantially (and I think is more diverse overall) and we'll see what resonates most with MFAD
I had a great time participating and appreciate the incentive to be more deliberate with my fits as well! And a belated thanks to those that made it happen. It’s been really well run.
How many are there usually each year?
Historically it was about 6 months between I believe
Curious also. The people voted in got ~ 1/3 to 1/2 of all voters, which is a really wide swathe. You can’t just appeal to a small niche. And yet the fits did end up being really diverse.
I'm just glad I posted something. I'm pretty sure I would have found it very stressful to make it to the next round.
Did you have express interest or something in the fit battle to have the channel display in your feed? Someone mentioned to me that they couldn’t see it in their channels
In the onboarding yes adding the “events” role adds the channels
You can manually add them in the channels and roles section
If you want to see everything in the server you have to turn on “show all channels”
