will updating in game mode overwrite the disk with steamos?

if youre talking about the update function in game mode, the button just runs just update however do not trust the progressbar or changelogs there as there is no way to properly configure those to give custom output well the progressbar is not realistic i should say, once its 100% it will be done though but when it says its lets say 98% done, it might just be half done with the update as an example but once it is done it will be at 100% and done

I'm not sure if I understand the question. SteamOS has no way of being reinstalled on a Bazzite-based Deck on its own

Be wary, my gamemode shows an OS update and a bios update. Last time I tested clocking the button, my SD rebooted and the bios updated to 118, even though I had the just command set up.

same. i think steam just runs the binary to update bios without being dependant on the service running always perfer running in terminal to update b/c of verbosity but thats just me
