Bug with re-adding custom domain after deleting it?
I added a custom domain to my project (api.mydomain.com) and it wasnt working at first, so i went to add another one (hey.mydomain.com). Then the hey.mydomain.com one began working, but the api.mydomain.com didnt. So then I deleted api.mydomain.com and tried adding it again. But for some reason, even if i dont update the DNS record with the new value it gives me for api.mydomain.com, when i dismiss the modal telling me to change the DNS record, it says its all setup
But it still isnt setup. And i tried doing this with other domains like deleting and re-adding hey.mydomain.com and it says it's connected even though its not.

what provider for your domain are you using? assuming you config the dns there too
Namecheap.
Yes, I added the cname to it. But if I go delete the api.my domain.com from railway and the Cname, and then try to re-add the api.mydomain.com on railway, if I just dismiss the modal without adding the cname, railways UI says it’s been setup
amazing i use namecheap too
But it hasn’t cuz it still fails when going to that domain I added
okay so what you're gonna do
go to all the services that you want your wildcard domain on
you just set them up individually
if railway shows you the value, you add it under the host and value and u can dismiss the modal after filling in the correct value
this is namecheap also to railway and vercel
yeah so i have been adding it to namecheap like that
oh interesting
its live now (been like 3 hours)
and then just wait
i do believe the modal is a onetime show kinda thingy
so its fixed for me. but seems to still be a railway bug where after u add a domain, set it up, and then delete it
the next time u add it, it'll say its configured even though it may not be
ahhhh
okay cool
thank you for these diagrams tho 🙏
glad it workss
no worries bro
