How to install the beta versions?
How do you go about installing the public test versions of Iris? Java won't open the jar files, throwing the error "A Java Exception has occured."
Release version installer works just fine. Cannot find any documentation of how to install the test versions.

they aren't installers, they are mods. They go in the mods folder
So just creating a mods folder in .minecraft and plopping that sucker in there should do the magic trick?
no, you must install fabric from https://fabricmc.net/use/installer/
once you run the installer you'll have a fabric profile in the launcher. Launch it to generate the mods folder, then put sodium and iris in there and restart the game

The iris installer can install fabric loader as well if you select it
I assume they're getting the public test builds for the new snapshot

i have it installed but when it loads its just regular mc
what profile are you launching?
