Opinions on GH BASS
So I've been looking for some nice shoes and come across the brand GH Bass. They have a cool Collab with Maharishi but I wanted opinions on the brand and if it's well regarded. Thanks

Weejuns are some of the best loafers for the money and are classic
I have a pair of their moc wallace rangers and I'm pretty impressed. Leather seems really nice for the price

Are these true to size or do they run big?
Do you know your brannock size? Or have you bought leather shoes before
I got a pair of loafers from herring. It recommended to get a size down but I'm always between a UK 10.5 & 11 so I went with a 10 and it feels a bit loose. Haven't had a chance to wear them but apparently when they break in, they should fit better. Just not used to loafers.
Also got a pair of solovair derbies which I got in a 10 and fit nicely. They also recommended sizing down. Maybe the laces helped

I love weejuns but the quality is trash these days. If you aren’t buying from an outlet or second hand they are not worth retail.
Yeah leather shoes fit weird, generally a fair bit smaller than sneakers. Getting your brannock size would help a lot, or being able to try something in person
the vintage weejuns loafers are good. if you were looking for modern makes, for a bit more you could get a pair of berwicks or jalans sriwijaya
I think rancourt/quoddy/oak street are the only folks making quality “true” moccasin style penny loafers these days which is a shame. Bass did a made in Maine version a few years ago that were nice.
Oh and yuketen has some but they are pricey
Russell also makes true Mocs. Super technically idt Rancourt makes true Mocs and osb may not either but that doesn’t really make a difference in any practicality.
You’re right about practicality. The key for me is a true moc toe - I’m less concerned about it being a wraparound moc construction.

I thought osb had similar language but I can’t find it anymore.

I have a pair of vintage weejuns and i love them. I got them in a 10.5 and usually i’m a 10 in GYW but they fit perfectly. Easy all day wear and very good value for what i spent. If you go for weejuns buy used on ebay for a fraction of retail
Thanks mate. So if I'm usually a 10.5/11 UK for sneakers, a 10 to 10.5 will be good with weejuns? I'll definitely check eBay. Seems like the consensus is that weejuns are not worth retail. Glad I asked on here before spending ÂŁ200 on the 
I think collabs are a bit unique because you’re paying for the design moreso than quality. Whatever size you think you are, just make sure you know if the pair is US sized or UK sized.
