Self-hosting hardware sufficient?

I want to set up a server for 7-10 friends. I've run one before from my current PC for fewer people, but now I want to get a separate computer for it and I'm looking secondhand for lower cost. It will be Fabric 1.20.1 with just optimisation mods and vanilla tweaks. Would an HP Z240 SFF Workstation be sufficient? CPU: i7-6700 6th Generation 4 Core GPU: Nvidia Quadro P600 4 Monitor RAM: 16GB DDR4 2133 MHz Storage: 250GB SSD + 500GB HDD Windows: Windows 10 Pro If not, what hardware level should I be looking at?

Seems sufficient, just make sure you have a fast enough internet connection It won’t hold many over 7-q0 though

Use ubuntu it's better than windows 10 pro for hosting + you have software like pterodactyl panel

GPU won't improve Minecraft server performance btw Server must be running on SSD Is this a workstation you own or a workstation you want to buy? If it's something you want to buy then don't

Is dell a brand that’s popular in NZ? If so, you may score a decent box looking for a precision or optiplex on used sites near you.

Hmm, I've had a quick look, but most Dell available are very old. I think I might have to discuss upping the budget, as even that i3 set is ~$700NZD when shipping included. I have a spare case and RAM, so I might just have to build it.

I bought a dell optiplex with an i7 6700t and is running very nicely, better than many hosting packages I’ve used in the past. Here in Honduras it was $250 USD but I see them online for much cheaper. The specific model is the Optiplex 7050 micro.

this needs a gpu of some sort, the cpu doesnt have any integrated unless you know for sure that itll post without one and can get the OS installed elsewhere yeah on server hardware, having no GPU is usually fine but most desktop platforms won't post without any sort of graphics module, therefore not allowing you to do anything with it
