My goals is basically to "complete" the suit, as I can't find the original pants. These fabric patterns seems to come quite close? Some of the pants pictures are taken in dark light. It can't be disputed that the pants will most likely be slightly darker blue, but I've read that's fine?
Wondering if this combination would be good for formal occasions. Court, solicitations, public speaking you name it...
Another option would be the following pants, which is a 80% merino wool and 20% silk blend. Although, the pattern on these pants (stripes) is quite different (?):
It’ll be pretty much impossible to perfectly match the fabric (even if you could source yardage of the same fabric there’s some slight variation from run to run). You’re better off looking for a complete suit from the jump.
Thanks for your input, I'm aware finding an exact match is impossible. I guess what I'm asking is, if I'll get away with it or if it will look bad
It’ll look bad - especially with such a formal fabric. I wouldn’t even wear that jacket with grey trousers.
Does that jacket have purple in it?
No purple, just dark blue
You sure? Pic 3 looks purple on my phone.
Good point. I don't have them in hand so can't really judge for myself.
don't do it brother
Some more pics
Don’t try to Frankenstein a suit
You’re better off wearing separats
Of just finding a suit that actually is complete
Alright, thanks. Spezzato it is:
