OBS "HDR output is currently disabled for this output" ????
hi guys. I'm just looking to play Cyberpunk 2077 tomorrow with the big update and will more than likely stream as I do so. I obviously want to play this game in HDR on my OLED to really experience it and I've setup OBS accordingly from EV's many recommended HDR settings videos. But every time I go live on Youtube (doing a test stream to make sure everything is working) I keep getting this message. Any ideas on what is causing this?

Not sure av1 can currently do hdr. Prob need to use hevc with p010
Nvidia encode matrix specifies 10 bit for hevc, however, av1 simply gets a "yes"
oh I thought it could, it does show AV1 is capable in one of EV's video guides
I can record HDR with AV1 no problems what so ever
Do you have ultra low latency enabled for YT?
no, just low latency. I assume you asked that because ultra low latency doesn't support 1440p/4k
HDR can only happen over HLS and with HEVC still. Theres still some bug keeping them from enabling it for RTMPS AV1

Uploading HDR to YT requires some extra steps I think. Addie should have a video on that part if I'm not mistaken

Thanks for all this btw. Question, might as well tag this along here...I just recorded an HDR video for Cyberpunk 2077 and new update. All settings where correct in OBS as the recording looked amazing. Edited and rendered the video in Davinci Resolve 18.6, chose the correct colur inputs and outputs for HDR. The rendered video looked great. But once uploaded to Youtube, HDR is not selectable and the video is now a little washed out. I've had a look here and all your videos on Youtube but couldn't find one that was relevant. Have you done a tutorial for Davinci Resolve on how to render HDR content so Youtube recognizes it correctly?
how long ago did you upload it? HDR transcodes can often take days to show up on youtube

it honestly feels like its not worth the hastle uploading HDR content at the moment. It's just that I'm playing on LG C2 OLED and wanna enjoy the visuals, but then OBS looks pants if set to capture SDR and not REC2100 PQ
obs has pretty good tonemapping these days, that'd be the flow I'd recommend

yup agree 100%. You did mention a little about it in the streaming HDR AV1 video of yours. Just leave it to REC2100PQ and let it do its thing?
