is a bomber jacket appropriate for a job fair?
i have a blazer , but it is too comically large for me now.

You won't be able to pass it off as a tailored jacket. However, if it's cool enough outside, you might be able to get away with it just as much as you would would a shirt with no jacket
It might be easier to borrow a jacket from a friend if your own is too big
Post a pic, it’s hard to give advice when we can’t see anything
*post a pic if you’re comfortable
Pics would help but probably no. If your cohort is all wearing suits and you're in a bomber jacket you'll stick out in a bad way
Last year's "comically too large" might be this year's height of fashion. 😀
Also, how much time/money do you have? You may be able to find something that fits at a thrift store, with a bit of work. (I assume money is a constraint, otherwise you could just buy a blazer that fits)
Don't mind my tracksuit bottoms
oh, yeah, that IS too big
i lost like 40kg
damn, congrats
and i receive comments from other people as well, but i wasted like £70 on that , so i don't want to splurge large amounts of money
What’s the timeline here
It’s not that hard to find at least a jacket that fits okay at the thrift if you have time, you just have to go to the right places
If you live in an area where people still dress up for church there will be lots of suits at thrift stores
i got a week until the job fair
Do you know if there are thrift stores near you?
i don't know if there any thrift stores near where i live , and i have never been to a in person store before
What kind of job fair and where? Some require much less formality than others.
it's in central london
what sort of industry? If its like, coding you'll be fine with the bomber
nobody goes to church in the UK 😄
for what i remember from the top of my head ,some of them are it/digital services , postal , hospitality, i can't remember , what the rest of them are?
Tons of thrift in the area. I'd try to find a blazer or sport coat that more or less fits.
I'd just go for business casual tbh rather than worrying about a jacket. If you're a student especially I wouldn't stress it
what is considered business casual ?
It depends on context. If you're a student and it's the general uni jobs fair expectations will be low. If it's an industry specific event expectations will be higher. Chinos/tailored trousers + Oxford shirt + some appropriate top layer (blazer or jumper) is a basic formula. Given your position I would focus on making sure the other elements fit well rather than overly worrying about a jacket
