Cocktail attire - Suit with Boots.

Can I pull off these boots in a navy suit for cocktail attire? I've dipping my toes in the water around military style boots on the more dressy side. I've been wearing these booties (stock and real photo attached) to work with chinos and a sports jacket and I think it works fine. My questions is, could I pull them off in a (slightly checked) navy suit for an up coming wedding (stock photo attached)? Alternatively, could go black suit. I'm a bit light on shoes atm, and wasn't budgeting on new shoes after cats ruined another pair. But if necessary I can try and find something different. Probably worth mentioning I do generally lean into a slightly alternative look, but certainly not too extreme. Apologies I'm not actually in a position to try it out
